Bringing the Sea to Soho
The sitch: I had just gotten out of an audition and had two hours to burn in Soho before attending the dress rehearsal for my show that night. The solution: one word…Seamore’s.
On a rainy day, walking into the restaurant was like a breath of fresh air. It has a Montauk/Nantucket vibe, almost as if you've just come out of the ocean and entered your beach house for lunch. The restaurant has a white-washed interior that is perfect for an aesthetically pleasing Instagram feed. It's also adorned with aqua blue and wooden chairs and beams graffitied with hearts (there’s also a mural with this pattern outside!).
The actual food was equally as incredible. I decided to have their Monday special: a tuna melt that came with a side of kale and sweet potato salad. Although the portion was quite large, the food tasted fresh and flavorful. Another customer favorite at Seamore’s is the “Maine Lobster Roll.” They serve lobster in a buttered roll with lemon, scallion, paprika, and celery salt. Yum.
For dessert, Seamore's carries Odd Fellows soft serve ice cream, one of the most famous dessert spots in NYC. Delicious seafood and the city’s best cold treat? Sounds like a done deal to me.
