Courtney Quinn Colors a World Full of Positivity
Take one look at Courtney Quinn’s vibrantly colored Instagram feed and you will immediately fall in love. The social media star--known as “Color Me Courtney,” not only radiates positivity through her neon aesthetic but spreads the love in celebrating her curves and the features that make her one-of-a-kind. She has a blog (also called “Color Me Courtney”) as well, where she writes fascinating articles about her outfit choices, New York City, her apartment, and of course, her adorable french bulldog Waffles. When did you start your blog and why did you decide to start it?
I started a blog right after college as a resume booster. I have both MBA and finance degrees, so I looked like a numbers nerd on paper, but I wanted something to show I know fashion in the hopes of landing a corporate style job. Once I landed what I thought would be my “dream job” but quickly turned out to be a disappointing experience in the fashion world, I started blogging again as a creative outlet. Eventually, I found my way into a job I liked a lot more. but my blog grew so much, I had to choose to either continue creating handbags at Coach or leave to do Color Me Courtney full time.
What message are you trying to convey to your blog’s subscribers?
To play with pattern, experiment with color, and always dress outside the lines!
What is your number one beauty product recommendation?
Red lipstick! It’s my superpower.
What is your current style staple piece or trend that you think everyone should embrace?
Color. It’s the one trend that never goes out of style. You can go bold with a monochromatic look or switch things up and try a unique color combo. If you’re color shy, dip your toe in the hue pool with a neutral outfit and one pop of color.
Do you have any future plans for your blog?
One big one that I can’t share yet, but I’m looking to expand this year and do more lifestyle content, as well as more with video and in-person experiences. Stay tuned!
