Kristen Taekman: The *Realest* Fashionista of New York
Kristen Taekman truly does it all. Not only does she handle the world that surrounds being a former Real Housewife of New York with grace, but she is a power mom to two kids, a blogger, and an all-around fashionista. I first met her when she came to a charity event I hosted at Henri Bendel for No Bully. A former model who also created her own line of nail polish (Pop of Color), she arrived in a chic, fiery-red jumpsuit and greeted everyone as if she knew them personally. Since she is one of my biggest blogger role models, I was so honored to have the opportunity to interview her for my own site. Check out our talk below:
When did you start your blog and why did you decide to start it?
My blog, Last Night’s Look, originated while I was filming The Real Housewives of New York. People would ask me on social media about the clothing and accessories I was wearing on screen, so I decided to start a blog with each post going out the morning after the show (hence the name “Last Night’s Look”).
What kind of message are you trying to convey to your blog’s subscribers?
I would like my followers to know that fashion can be both fun and affordable!
How would you describe your personal style?
I would describe my personal style as Jackie O’ meets Carrie Bradshaw!
What is a current style staple piece or trend that you think everyone should embrace?
The Gucci Leather Belt with the double G’s! I bought mine over 15 years ago and was so happy to see it make such a strong comeback! Worth every penny!
What is your number one beauty product recommendation?
The By Terry Sun Designer Palette! It’s the perfect compact palette that works on every skin tone and that one piece you can take with you anywhere for any occasion.
Any future plans for your blog?
