San Francisco Style
Recently, I was lucky enough to have taken a mini vacay to San Francisco for three days. My friend and I spent hours picking out our outfits and I was so excited to wear the new clothes I got when I hopped off the plane.
The first place I went to was Pier 39 in Fisherman’s Wharf, which reminded me of the South Street Seaport in NYC. It was full of color, from the carousels to the bright blue water illuminated by the radiant sun. Not to mention, there were so many restaurants (although I have to say, the food wasn’t as pretty as the view). I even got a water massage for 10 minutes!
The outfit I wore to the Pier was inspired by Bella and Gigi Hadid’s sporty street style. The black velvet sweatpants from Adidas weren’t too heavy but kept me warm just in case there was a cool breeze. The shirt, from Kendall and Kylie, was super creative: it was a plain white tee with a black lace bra in front of it. What I love most about the top is that you could detach the bra and put it on top of any other t-shirt, which definitely comes in handy, as layering is so in lately. As for the hat, I wore a black cap from Brixton, inspired by Bella Hadid’s extensive collection of newsboy inspired hats. Paired with my blue mirrored sunglasses from Illesteva, I felt super on trend. As for the other accessories, I mixed and matched two of my favorite statement pieces together: backpacks and pins! I chose a velvet backpack to parallel my velvet sweatpants and attached a colorful red and green ribbon pin from Pookie and Sebastian. The finishing touch was my favorite sneakers: my black velvet lowtops with crystallized star detailing from Lola Cruz Shoes.
For my second (and already the last!) day of my vacay, I knew that I had to go on the world renowned trolley ride! I got to hang off of the side of the trolley and go up and down numerous hills. Seeing the world speed by with the wind beating against my face? Absolutely breathtaking. My hair blowing in a million different directions? Not so cool...lol.
My outfit for the trolley ride had a casual, military theme. I wore a camouflage long-sleeve tee from my friend Corinne Olympios’ line of shirts for Riot Society Clothing. My favorite part of the tee was the orange capitalized writing in the left hand corner that said: “Anti Drama-Drama Club.” I think we all want to be a part of that club, am I right?! Since the shirt has warmer tones, I paired it with my gold Alex and Ani bangles, my go-to vacation accessory. They are relatively compact, so it’s easy to pack a bunch of them in your luggage; they come in silver and rose gold hues as well. To top off the outfit, I wore my favorite Illesteva sunglasses once again.
During my final night in San Francisco, I had the great honor of performing in a benefit for Nobully (Nobully.org), an organization that works to eradicate bullying by igniting student compassion. I sang two songs with castmates from a musical that I wrote the script for: Peace, Love, and Cupcakes. The event was a huge success where some of Broadway’s bests stood up to bullying, an evil monster that all of us face today.
Bullying is a serious topic that hovers over people’s minds but lately, the awareness being spread is bringing about positivity. I wanted to reflect this by putting together a black outfit with pops of bright red accessories. I wore a black mini dress with ruffles on the side from Missguided, topped with a Pookie and Sebastian blazer with chains weaved through it. My colorful accessories included red high heels from Nordstrom’s and a Prada clutch. Lastly, I wore my skinny bangle from Henri Bendel with Swarovski crystals.
I had so much fun on my super-speedy vacation to San Francisco and I especially loved experimenting with my different looks. I can’t wait to share my next vacation experience with you!
