Elle's Prominent Pastels

It’s safe to say that Elle Fanning is a little obsessed with wearing pastels. Okay, a lot obsessed. She has worn an array of dresses in soft shades of blue, yellow, and pink that embody her feminine, poised aura.

Renowned designers crafted unique designs in pastel colors for Fanning’s wardrobe during the Cannes Film Festival this past year. Among the most notable was her Gucci gown, colored a delicate green with flowers around the perimeter at the bottom. She wore it to the red carpet premiere of How to Talk to Girls at Parties and it was pure magic. Another one of her stunning gowns was worn to the premiere of The Beguiled, where Prada dressed her completely in light-purple tulle. Each one of Fanning’s pastel looks during the Cannes Film Festival represented the delicate nature of springtime, when the Festival occurred.

However, Fanning has proved that pastels can be worn year-round, not just in the spring. She previously stunned in a plunging satin cream frock from Prada when she attended the Golden Globes afterparty in January. She also wore a Rodarte pastel green off-the-shoulder maxi dress to Critics' Choice Movie Awards during the same month in 2012. It mesmerized onlookers, with embroidered leaves down the bodice and skirt, and huge flowers floating along the hemline and train. Thought it felt like a breath of spring air, she wore this look during the wintertime! As the snowy weather is upon us, it's important to keep in mind that pastels are a classy, feminine way to embrace the world of fashion during all months of the year. Just follow Fanning’s lead.
