There's Nothing Sleepy About These Looks
Stepping out on the street in pajamas ten years ago was viewed as “lazy” or “unsuitable for street style.” In 2018, high-fashion designers and celebrities are proving the past wrong. PJs have become a classic staple when it comes to both street style and star-studded award shows and premieres. Often made out of silk fabric, they create an effortless and luxurious vibe that onlookers can’t help but envy.
However, there are a few things to keep in mind when sporting your sleep-wear on the sidewalk or stage. In order to steer yourself away from looking too easy-going, ditch the slippers for a pair of heels and pair your outfit with stylish sunglasses. Additionally, if your pajama top is too long, cinch it with a belt at the waist in order to add a chic and fashionable touch.
This goes without saying, but it’s crucial that you brush your hair to pull the look together. If you don’t have time in the morning to shower and blow-dry, dry shampoo (the one with oat milk from Klorane is fantastic) is the perfect quick fix.
Lastly, a little makeup goes a long way. Even though the whole “no makeup-makeup” trend is very popular at the moment, some moisturizer and a red lip will only multiply the luxury level of your PJs. So next time you’re brainstorming an outfit for a Sunday brunch with your girls, perhaps you can sleep in a little bit more than usual.
